One of a series of 10 differing eucalypt ’trees’ the coat and hat stands explore the simple relationships found within any visual culture given the immediacy of locus and the natural forms found within it. The fruiting buds of eucalypts used in these works are also the symbolic language of love and intimacy, like that found in Song of Songs 7:7. Murray Bails classic book, Eucalyptus (1998) draws a parallel reading as found in these works. E.Cornuta is part of the permanent collection of the National Gallery of Australia.
