Chaise longue Succulentus, 1995
Polyurethane foam over steel armature, feathers, stainless steel, aniline dyed leather, hand-woven merino wool by Jennifer Robertson.

One of a series of upholstered collaborative works developed with Jennifer Robertson. The possibility of having special fabrics designed and produced for a particular work is very unusual and rewarding. From field trips together one finds inspirational flora that speaks volumes - often poetic, shape, form, environments found - sometimes harsh yet its beauty defies its conditions - in essence exploring the complex nature, character, even persona of a plant in a symbolic work. The back on the chaise articulates rotating 110˚ providing differing seating options.
